Parts of the bicycle have been glossed to bring out the original paint color and preserve the original finish - thin coats of brown and tan pattern suggest the bike may have been intentionally painted with a camouflage pattern more recently, it has been glossed and oiled, but overall the bike is in original condition and can still be ridden. Brakes work very well and the covering on the brake lines is about 80%. BSA grips on the handles are replacements done by an expert restorer using the original method of paper with rubberized finish and marked with BSA insignia. Comes with original BSA Model 40 leather saddle (bicycle seat) which is in rough condition but has original markings and, nose, mounting hardware and a World War II era Brooks / Wrights leather saddle - also British military issue.

Head tube is marked with a British broad arrow, 'PAT No. Comes with correct front-mounted detachable headlamp and leather toolkit. This is the second model with single seat tube. BSA gear / sprocket, rear dropout on frame stamped with serial number 'R16058' which falls in the correct parabike range of BSA bicycle frame serial numbers and can roughly be dated to having been produced in 1943.
